Mom, Sarah and I decided to not do turkey and the trimmings this year. We decided on cordon bleu, scalloped potatoes, orange cranberry-nut bread and homemade butter. I have never made butter or cordon bleu so this was going to be fun! I was completely thrilled to be doing something new! I love to cook! I took pictures as usual.
Here are the pictures of my endeavors...

The Chicken Cordon Bleu, cooked. I didn't want to check the temp
with a thermometer so I just cut it up instead. |

I wasn't sure how much butter I would get, so I went with 3 pints. |

The Champ mixer! I LOVE this machine! |

The cream whipped really thick. |

The butter starting to clump together and the buttermilk. |

Switched to the bread beater to avoid removing the butter from the
previous beaters. Yes, I was being lazy. |

The BUTTER! It is now BUTTER! |

This is how much butter the 3 pints made. And the buttermilk.
We all tasted the buttermilk just to see what it was all about.
It was sooooo yummy. My nephew wanted to drink it all!
I dumped the rest of the buttermilk into the scalloped potatoes. |

A close-up of the butter in the dishes. I salted one of the dishes to see what the
difference was. Honestly, I liked both, the salted and the unsalted. |
