Thanksgiving Dinner 2010

Mom, Sarah and I decided to not do turkey and the trimmings this year. We decided on cordon bleu, scalloped potatoes, orange cranberry-nut bread and homemade butter. I have never made butter or cordon bleu so this was going to be fun! I was completely thrilled to be doing something new! I love to cook! I took pictures as usual.

Here are the pictures of my endeavors...

The Chicken Cordon Bleu.
The Chicken Cordon Bleu, breaded.
The Chicken Cordon Bleu, cooked. I didn't want to check the temp
with a thermometer so I just cut it up instead.
I wasn't sure how much butter I would get, so I went with 3 pints.
The cream.
The Champ mixer! I LOVE this machine!

The cream whipped really thick.
The butter starting to clump together and the buttermilk.
Switched to the bread beater to avoid removing the butter from the
previous beaters. Yes, I was being lazy.
The BUTTER! It is now BUTTER!
A close-up of the butter!
This is how much butter the 3 pints made. And the buttermilk.
We all tasted the buttermilk just to see what it was all about.
It was sooooo yummy. My nephew wanted to drink it all!
I dumped the rest of the buttermilk into the scalloped potatoes.
A close-up of the butter in the dishes. I salted one of the dishes to see what the
difference was. Honestly, I liked both, the salted and the unsalted.
